Whats going in Barrie these days

Just wondering whats going on CNB9 these days.....is future air still there or not?

Sorry, I don't have my CFS nearby... CNB9 is the airpark closest to the city? I flew an xc up that way last August- stopped by a little airport (I'm presuming it's B9) which I swore their runway was a sidewalk the first time I saw it. They didn't seem terribly busy- there was a Navajo (I don't recall the operator) chilling on the ramp, but I was the only thing making any noise that day. Apperently Zlins are popular there- they had one on the ramp that looked in poor but flyable condition, and lots of brochures about the aircraft inside the office there. There was also a mainainence operation that seemed fairly busy which was located a short ways down the hangar row.

The offices there weren't quite what I'm used to seeing- there was no FTU, and no real gas operation in sight (maybe I just missed something)... just a few business types (I think I recall a law office) that I'd expect to find in a downtown rather than on an airport.

The Airport your thinking of is Barrie Springwater CNA3. You described it accurately but there is a FTU, a satellite base operating one DA20 Katana. The school is very busy in the summer but slows in the winter like any school. CNB9 the larger airport 5nm east of the city has 2 FTU's and lots of corporate traffic

And don't forget the golf driving range at the Airport... eats up some time when you have to sit there...
