CBC News
The crash of a small plane on a highway northeast of Montreal has left the pilot badly burned.
The Cessna aircraft caught fire when it hit the ground in Terrebonne around 10:30 a.m. ET Saturday, police said.
No other vehicles were hit when the plane went down on Highway 25, just south of Highway 640. The plane had taken off from the nearby Mascouche airport.
Most of the wreckage ended up on top of the guard rail at the side of the thoroughfare.
The pilot, whose name has not been released by police, is in serious condition from burns but is expected to survive.
It's not known what caused the crash.

Re: Pilot burned in Quebec plane crash
If it's the same crash, it was actually a homebuilt and not a "cessna" (or perhaps that's just what the media calls any small plane). It was on the news last night - the guy lost power shortly after takeoff and tried to land on the highway, but crashed in the median and the plane caught fire.
Re: Pilot burned in Quebec plane crash
Sounds like the same. It is an ultralight, the pilot was taken to Sacré-Coeur hospital. This is gonna give fuel to the airport opponents in that area. Dammit.
Re: Pilot burned in Quebec plane crash
80% burns to his body...that's brutal.
I'm not saying it is carb ice...but the conditions around this time of year are ideal for it.
Something to keep in mind when you kids go bombin' this fall in a non-fuel injected powerplant.
