Not sure if they are hiring, send a resume can't hurt. I think they may hire noobs for dispatch that will lead to a right seat.

I would think if you spent some time their about 3000 hours worth minimum I'm sure you would have a fair shot at AC. WestJet / Air Canada routinely take pilots from Central Mountain Air who is the same tier as Georgian, However I would say its good to get all sorts of different flying experience and get your butt in the seat of a plane its easier to go a company like georgian with some time in any seat.

Ya not for an f/o position with that time, but if he could get direct entry captain it wouldn't be a bad gig. Lots of captains in the past going to AC and WJ from Georgian, not so much right now obviously. But if team Red or Teal is your goal, you would have a pretty good shot when things start to pick up again.

I talked to one of my friends yesterday. He is a captain for them... I am in the same kind of hour range as you are (3500TT). He said that it would be hard for me to get a direct entry captain spot as many of the FO's are waiting to be upgraded. He even told me about a girl who came with a left seat PPC and apparently she's sitting in the right seat for now... Don't quote me on that one but this is what it sounded like.

You won't be hired as a direct entry Captain. They aren't doing that anymore. Yes, it's true there are a lot of guys waiting to be upgraded now. Some who have been with them almost 2 years or more in some cases.

As far as team teal or red, sure it's possible to move on from ggn, but if i was doing the hiring, i'd rather take someone with 705 time. Cause believe me, you won't see the left seat at ggn for a while. That's why I say go to porter. If you're gonna sit right seat, do it in a brand new Q4 with FA's and an APU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They only hired direct entry a couple of years ago when things were moving so fast. I think you'd waste your time going there with a bunch of 1900, not to mention collecting a not so great pay cheque out of YYZ, 26.9$. IF you have all that, look for a left seat elsewhere, AC and WJ seem to like 1900 and Metro guys and what not from everywhere.

I disagree with that. Perimeter is nearly the same size as Georgian, and how many guys did they lose to AC or WJ in the last 5 years? Georgian was losing 3-6 a month to AC alone. I'm not saying that no one left Perimeter to AC or WJ, because that's obviously not the case. I'm just saying that the rate of people leaving to AC or WJ from Georgian or CMA is unmatched by any 704 company out there.
