Took them long enough.
How many people have had "needle incidents" which resulted in death before this law?
Too many.
From my point of view, the main reason "managers" don't like these SAFE needles is MONEY.
They cost more.
For example, the cheapest needle is 5 cents. Maybe costs have gone up.
The cheapest safety needle is about 50 cents. Ten times more expensive.
You get the point right? 1 SAFE needle versus 10 unsafe needles.
It might go even higher.
A really safe needle might cost a whole dollar. Imagine that. A whole dollar.
My point is very simple.
Without this MANDATORY law, hospitals would more than likely choose the CHEAPEST option. @#$! safety. @#$! your life.
The bottom line is all that matters.
My other off topic point is the following.
SMS for aviation is a death sentence. Quite literally.
It's going to fail. How many people are going to die?

Re: MANDATORY Safety Engineered Needles
Ordinary needles cause after-use handling injuries....safety disposable needles with retracting pronger-thing too expensive....
The Obvious answer is each hospital should have just one great big needle.
