Worst places in Canada for winter

Wow.
So well written.
But missed a couple things.
Due to Canada's great winters, Canada Goose was born.
Not as hot as hell, but damn warm.
It's so cold up there...[ insert joke ]. These are good.
If your qualified for a "trade", you can get a lot more $$$ up there due to the cold.
Due to the lower population up there, the women buy you drinks. heh heh.
No problems with bugs. Even bugs hate the cold. hah hah.
Don't ever forget that time when toronto called the army to protect them from snow.
Yes, your tax dollars hard at work. Join the army to shovel snow. Where's my C-7. I'll make you shovel snow you city boy.

Interestingly, Eureeka's summer temps are warmer than average for the Arctic and there is flora found there that is not found anywhere else at that latitude.
The fastest way to turn money into smoke and noise..

Thats bullshit.
I didn't see Barrie, ON anywhere on that list.
Maybe if they had a category of: Where good weather goes to die and leave a stinking corpse we would have got it.

I HIGHLY doubt Toronto's average winter tempreature is -0.76°C.

I always love the comments section at the bottom. "Toronto is FAR colder because it is so damp...." Uh huh.
I'm off to Antarctica next week. Let that clown prance around Dome C in a raincoat. He'll be fine, -55 is a DRY cold.

Did they tell you about the weather in the interview? That's ok I got totally snowed by my employers too, I thought you got leis and Mai Tais when you got off the plane in YFB. Instead, someone kicked me in the balls and ran off with my wallet in a -40c "dry" cold. Turns out it was my training captain, just trying to make me feel welcome.just curious wrote:I always love the comments section at the bottom. "Toronto is FAR colder because it is so damp...." You are correct, sort-of, but I suppose it depends on how they defined "winter", what period of record they used, and whether they used the daily average or the daily high.
The "official" 30-year normals for Pearson are here...(which is what I assume is what Phillips would have given them... but remember that media outlets have their OWN on-site weather recording, so they may have extracted the values from THOSE. )

... and you can judge for yourself. Check out other Toronto Area sites. Toronto Island, for example, is about a degree and a half warmer in Dec-Jan than Pearson.

I thought it was interesting that there is an above average ice extent in Antarctica, in '09:just curious wrote:I always love the comments section at the bottom. "Toronto is FAR colder because it is so damp...." Uh huh.

BM:
You've obviously falsified that chart for your own nefarious purposes, as yet undetermined.
EVERYBODY knows the ice shelf in the Antarctic is shrinking to levels never before seen in human history. Sea levels are on the rise, and damn soon, New York City will be under more than 20 feet of brackish water .... salt water diluted by fresh water from melted glaciers and sea ice that is breaking up even as we read posts on AvCanada.

What I can't figure out is how come we aren't allowed to hire Russians to control the weather for us...
