Another Laser attack : No one is responsible

Old topic. But here goes.

"While Transport Canada appreciates your interest in educating the public about the dangers of pointing lasers at aircraft, the department respectfully points out that the more this subject is aired, the more occurrences are being reported," says Deborah Baxter, spokeswoman for the ministry.

Hmmm...so if you report serial killers, you make more serial killers.

The more you report on [ noun ] , the more incidents of [ noun ] will be reported.

Really bright logic here.

As always no one is responsible.

No one is going to take real action.

So here's the real question : How many people have to die for TC to take action? REAL action.

SMS is not going to work.

I think at least 20 people will die before TC will do anything.

Eye damage? Too bad. It's not TC's fault, or responsibility.

The company. Yeah right. It's not their fault either.

It's no one's fault. NO ONE is responsible.

Pilots : Get those green laser safety glasses if you want to protect yourself.

I think what creates serial killers and what makes mischievous teenagers is totally different.

I wonder if technology could help prevent this thru the use of a filtered eye wear maybe. I suppose it would have to be done thru a means that it would not interfere with necessary green lights on the ground.

The only reason kids are doing it is because it gets reported and the kids get reinforcement from it showing up in the media.

I don't understand, why manufacturers are allowed to build and to sell such devices at consumer
level. There should be a band on imports and manufacturing of these devices at consumer level.
obviously kids don't understand the potential risk of spotting a LASER lights not only to planes but also to anyone else.
