I left WJ a few months ago for a job that was waiting for me.
I have since left that job and have an interview with a new company, but have heard that WJ will not give references, whether good or bad, for former employees, other than telling stating their length of employment. Is this true?

Re: References from WJ
no one else is saying it so I will, this is obvoisly a bullshit post.
Re: References from WJ
That may very well be the case. There are many companies that will not do that anymore due to legal liabilities. Best bet is to get a co worker that you've flown with or a training guy that you know to give you a personal reference.

Far from BS my friend. True story indeed. Not sure why you chose to jump on it as a made up post and don't understand what benefit it would make anyone from making up this type of thread either.5dayer wrote:no one else is saying it so I will, this is obvoisly a bullshit post.
Re: References from WJ
you said that you " heard" this
Why don't you just call Westjet and ask, seems like a no brainer??
And out of curiosity, what department did you work in?
Good luck on your future employment prospects!

Re: References from WJ
Very common practice to only state the facts of someone's employment and not get into subjective characterizations. Airlines know that slander/liable lawsuits are a realistic possibility so references are based on the facts and when hiring they almost never explain why a candidate was not successful for the same reasons.
