China releases their own version of the movie "Top Gun"
. . . it is called "J-10 on a Mission." Looking at the preview, lots of young Chinese pilots with short or spiked hair, Ray Ban sunglasses, and cocky attitudes. Oh, I forgot to mention images of airplanes! Should be worthwile to see-- I'll be keeping my eyes open to see if I can get my hands on a bootleg copy.

Jewish Pilot
A plane leaves Los Angeles airport under the control of a Jewish captain. His new copilot is Chinese, and an awkward silence between the two seems to indicate a mutual dislike.
Once they reach cruising altitude, the Jewish captain activates the auto pilot, leans back in his seat, and mutters, “I don’t like Chinese.”
“No rike Chinese?” asks the copilot, “why not?”
“You people bombed Pearl Harbor, that’s why!”
“No, no,” the copilot protests, “Chinese not bomb Peahl Hahbah! That Japanese, not Chinese.”
“Japanese, Chinese, Vietnamese… doesn’t matter, you’re all alike!”
There are a few minutes of silence. “No rike Jew people!” the copilot suddenly announces.
“Why not?” asks the captain.
“Jew people sink Titanic.”
“Jews didn’t sink the Titanic!” exclaims the captain; “It was an iceberg!”
“Iceberg, Goldberg, Greenberg, Rosenberg, no mattah… all same.”

Awesome!!! That's one of the best, fairly inoffensive, ethnic jokes I've seen in a long time!Panama Jack wrote:“You people bombed Pearl Harbor, that’s why!”

I think the film is missing the blatantly homoerotic shower and volleyball scenes. Maybe they're in the directors cut.

I don't know. . . but surely it cannot be a Chinese movie without some major swordplay scenes, with everyday objects such as E6B's, Fuel Testers and Flight Plans being used as deadly weapons. Let's not forget the Qinggong ("the ability of lightness") scenes where the characters in the movie will move swiftly and lightly at superhuman speeds-- scaling air traffic control towers, gliding across clouds (without the help of an aircraft). The Americans and Russians don't stand a chance.
Look for Li Bing Bing to appear as the "special techniques combat instructor."

Ray Bans are a knock off of Wang Ban sunglasses...
A few years ago (1970s) a friend of mine went to China and learned all about their parachute training at a place called Wan King and of course the name was joined up in the British press...
That CJ6 is a nice aeroplane I believe...

MiG-27??? Say whatttt? Methinks they either meant the MiG-29 or the SU-27, given that the MiG-27 was a ground attack aircraft... either that or their view of the "best fighter jets in the world" is quite skewed.CCTV wrote:...aerial dogfights involving the J-10, the Russian mig-27 and US Air Force F16 -- the best fighter jets in the world.
Panama Jack... that was great!

Just a shot in the dark, but did China build any parts for the Eurofighter?
Drinking outside the box.
Re: China releases their own version of the movie "Top Gun"
Look at the bright side, if this fighter lasts as long as the other crap they produce there is no threat to anyone.

When you can put three thousand fighters in the air at the same time ,who needs perfect ?
Maybe we should hire them for Afghanistan to help protect the old silk road

China built MiGs under licence for many years. If anything this is a super evolved design with several indigenous innovations that stemmed from the MiG-21 .Four1oh wrote:Just a shot in the dark, but did China build any parts for the Eurofighter?
