arrival routing - AC47 YVRHNL January 02

Post by Captain S itmagnet »

I rode in the back of this flight, and experienced a different arrival from usual. None of the published STARS match up with what we did. The front end crew made a PA to the effect that we were doing something different but I couldn't hear it well.

Conditions were night VMC, and we passed along the north shore at around 10000, then turned south at the northwest tip of Oahu, then a slant final to 8L that started around Barbers Point. All was over water until short final.

Curiosity is getting the better of me. Anything to do with either military activity or the US President being on the island and an approriate notam?

Back to your regularly scheduled vacation on the beach!
The suspense is not killing me! Just curious.
Thanks

I consider it a badge of honour this week, because nobody "hates me" when my ron's are YMM, YSB, and similar in January!
