L-39C at the OFC?
I heard from a pretty reliable source the Ottawa Flying Club is going to offer training on an L-39C? Anyone have any idea what the hourly rate is going to be? Do they have a fighter pilot instructor on staff?

whoooo....just wait until -dwj- sees that post.

The hardest thing about flying is knowing when to say no
After over a half a century of flying no one ever died because of my decision not to fly.

Re: L-39C at the OFC?
Too blurry a pic to tell if I know him, but then they phased out the 104 just after I got to the unit so probably not.Hedley wrote:I'm an L39 instructor / check pilot. I don't think there are
very many of us in Eastern Ontario. What do you want to know?

P.S. The guy in the back seat of this photo is Musket 67, a
-104 pilot at CEPE at Cold Lake![]()

What are the two cars in the background? Looks like an Austin Martin in the far right but can't tell the one the back corner. Looks like a lot of nice toys in one hanger.

I'm still impressed by the series of vertical 8 inside/outside/outside/inside etc. combinations at CYND a number of years ago.
Thats some wicked +/- G and transitional G tollerance.

Re: L-39C at the OFC?
I heard from a very reliable insider source Dale Snodgrass is donating a fleet of F-5's, as well as free air-to-air combat training to OFC as well.

Just between you and me...OFC is now giving outside-formation-aerobatic flight instruction on a nice pair of Avro Arrows.

I can say with absolute certainty that Ottawa Flying Club will offer air to ground attack training with ex German Air Force instructors on the X1.

Re: L-39C at the OFC?
It is theoretically possible offer this kind of training, so I am intrigued. Does anybody have any real information on where/how this is going to work ?
pm me so as to avoid the usual smart ass avcanada responses.

Re: L-39C at the OFC?
Just to add some fuel to the rumour although this is only a guess...could it be tied somehow to the new test pilot school that started up last October?
