Air Canada in cargo pact

Financial Post

March 9, 2005

Air Canada has signed a $44-million contract with a U.S. company to provide air cargo service between Toronto and destinations in Europe and Asia.

Under the pact, World Airways, a subsidiary of World Air Holdings Inc., will fly Air Canada's cargo on one of its MD-11 freighter aircrafts beginning in May.

"Air Canada is a leader in the airline industry and we welcome the opportunity to partner with them as they expand their cargo operation," said Rob Binns, World's senior vice-president of marketing and planning.

An Air Canada spokeswoman confirmed the company had signed the agreement, but did not have any further details.
