Nakina Air DHC-6

Post by oggerflotter »

I just noticed Nakina Air updated their fleet info on the PCC website. Their twin otter is now listed as a floatplane:

Anyone know if they'll be looking for someone this spring with twotter float experience? I'm looking to work back in Onterrible...

Oh you got the typical Nakina Air welcome. It gets better every day when you work there. After a few years they might even know your name if they like you.

As far as I know, the twin otter is just on wheels.

That is a typical Nakina welcoming!!! I worker there for 2 years and it took The Champ a year before he said my name. And one day the I said good morning to the owner and she grunted at me. They won't put the twin on floats they don't have enough room at the dock. And it's the middle of the winter so i really doubt it is on floats.

The chaamp is quite a character apparently. Ask wildernessnorthair and arctic sunwest buffalo guys. I heard it was close to a physical battle between the champ and wna/arctic sunwest guys last winter when they were in Nakina. The champ gets pretty upset when other companies fly in his area.

He has ownership of the area he flies in?

Last year I posted on AvCanada my concerns about the chump and his actions that led to a near miss accident at Koper Lake. Unfortunately nothing was done about it by any official agency (who I also filed complaints with). AvCanada in their wisdom decided to pull the site because of threatened lawsuits from NAS.

And the bullshit continues…

Are there "ANY" decent operators to work for out there??
Every time I think I might want to submit an application, I read bad and I mean BAD reviews on most of them

When other companies like hearst air, north star, west caribou, wilderness north or any other company get any mining work in the ring of fire, apparently he gets quite mad.

Quote: "Are there "ANY" decent operators to work for out there??"

No! Canadian aviation really is an industry that is notorious for poor management, low pay for the responsibilities and an almost callous attitude towards employees. Anyone who has worked in or seriously studied other industries will confirm this. It is similar to the endemic incompetence of operations in Africa and some other Third World countries. Because it is generally so low there is no competitive incentive to improve.

Sales trainer Jerry Bresser made an applicable comment: "To be a success you do not have to be an expert. You merely have to be a little bit better than most other people." If most others are utter imbeciles and you are only slightly retarded you will be a success. Think of Canadian air operators and the quality of their "management." This industry perfectly illustrates Bresser's statement!

Well, maybe there is a decent operator, but the guys working for him keep quiet, so they aren't flooded with resumes.
