Someone told me that they might hire direct entry RP's on the 87... any info??

RP 767, A340 and B777 were all entry level positions as well as EMB F/O. It is not unreasonable to assume that the 787 RP positions will be available as well... as long as the senior guys that get a pass on PG don't snap them up.
