Let the gouging begin...
CATSA screening at Abbotsford is temporarily located in an FBO that is charging $150 per aircraft for the "service".

Re: Let the gouging begin...
the levels of gouging are getting rediculous.
Calgary Esso is quoted both at $450 and $700
for transient customers on top of the standard ramp fee just to complete CATSA screening. they advise it was due to the cost of all the extra staff and such. lets see, there is a CATSA screening bus on the ramp. Thats it. but the bus is plugged into the side of the building for power so that justifies it, I guess. if no screening required then there will be no charge other than small ramp fee. These FBO's should consider themselves lucky that they are receiving the extra business at all. I thought that the airport was designated as the portal not the FBO
BTW
The Peidmont Shell on the other side of 16 costs $300. WTF.

YYJ ?
YLW ?
YXX $150
If anyone is able to add to this list or add some insight it would be appreciated.

I have tons of horror stories already.
I've heard the security " professionals" are being paid 110/hr during the games.

At the YYJ Esso we're charging our regular rates. Not sure what Shell's charging.

Re: Let the gouging begin...
Here in Sudbury it costs me about $80 to get a girl outside the Ledo Hotel to give me a cavity search depending on the day and availability, so $150 seems a tad high.
I guess that's a Fogducker argument for CATSA to decertify the union, eh?

Re: Let the gouging begin...
Thats BS. Is the FBO paying the CATSA employees? Somehow I doubt it.
Re: Let the gouging begin...
Nope,
Not bs... Its paid by the government. The whole entire olympic period is overtime.
