Favorite Airports

So I was just curious what ya'lls favorite airports were, and why? And I mean for private flying more so than commercial flying, but if you fly commercially and have a favorite, feel free to post in here!

For me, I really love YYJ. Great scenic trip around the San Juan/Gulf islands, great airport, great food, can't say enough good things about it! I also really loved KPAE (Paine field). That was always a blast to fly into, and a very nice GA (And commercial) airport. Revelstoke is fun too...and if you don't know why, just look in the CFS.

No pics, but Nanaimo (CYCD) isnt bad, there is a little bakery Mon Petit Choux, excellent Nanamio bars! They also have bunk beds, kitchen and internet if you stay the night.

For me it's Goose Bay, Labrador and then Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Loved Churchill back in the late 1950's and early 1960's too.

Kathmandu has always been my favorite especially in a 747 which makes it just a little more exciting. Kai Tak is (was) a close second.

Take off in the summer at 35 C, uphill on gravel runway with a dog leg, and with a tailwind...And mountains at both ends...
No need to pressurize the aircraft from here!

Gjoa Haven. So scenic with its oceanfront view. Always a nice brisk wind to keep the bugs away. Temperatures usually hovering in the thirties...what more could you ask for? I had some pictures from the last time I was there, but they all turned out really white.

Not one navaid available so had to find the airport with INS, start the visual approach (initial descent) with referece to the road leading in from the southwest then circle down inside the hills and final approach and landing with no visual guidance from Papi or Vasis.

Then depart at night with 500 Haj pilgrims. Once again with no navaids available should one suffer an engine failure and have to return.

Not my favourite by any stretch but worth a mention.

Hello everyone. First post on AVCANADA and in my opinion, I really like Pine Dock Airport located about 100NM's north of Winnipeg along Lake Winnipeg on the west side. The scenery and the 04 approach is quite remarkable. At sunset, your heart just melts... so Beautiful! I've seen that the airports like Kelowna in BC are obviously more spectacular but for southern Manitoba, Pine Dock has got to be my #1...

But I have seen empty 747s climb out of Kabul like fighter planes!!!

My 747 was always full and you wouldn't have seen us as it was always night. And you weren't there, then , anyway.

At the time it was known as Soellingen flugplatz or CFB Baden-Soellingen, now it's Baden-Karlsruhe International. The downwind leg was over the Rhine river and a nude beach.

+1 Awesome scenery and fun islands...full moon parties anyone?!?

St. Barth's is probably my favorite airport. Cool approach and a topless beach directly off the end of the runway. Mmmm...paradise! Saba was also a pretty unique and challenging airport and a cool island with good scuba diving.

CBK7 is always fun for a Sunday afternoon flight and a burger. A challanging approach for a rookie like me, the scenery is great and the foods not bad.
