Voyageur AME overseas
Just wondering if there are any AME’s currently working for Voyageur in Africa around. I’m looking for information on pay, living conditions, rotations and such. Send me a PM if you don’t want to share this on an open forum. Thanks.

Re: Voyageur AME overseas
I had a good buddy work for them.Africa all depends on what Country. One of the countries he said if he had to go back he would quit.
Every bug is a deadly bug.
Beer/food is cheap.
$50 US perdiem + $50 US in (hot!) countries and I don't mean the weather.
Contract is mostly with UN so you get Tax break.
Dash-7,-8 & RJ.Experience an asset but Endorsment not neccesary.
When he was there 8 weeks in 4 out. They did not have enough people to do 6/6.
People are always quiting so sometimes your stay is extended.
Money was Good.
He made it a year before he moved on.

Re: Voyageur AME overseas
LOL. Must have hit a tender little nerve
Listen bud I may be new to posting on a forum but I've seen all your bullshit on here for quite some time now. I'm not going to waste my time rambling off a bunch of verbal diarrhea like you do. You really need to get a life bud. I bet you sit around in your underwear on your fat ass at your PC probably munching on a bag of cheesies wasting your pathetic life away on these forums correcting spelling errors. You should just get out of aviation. It’s no one else’s fault that you settled for shitty jobs and shitty pay. With all the negatives you splurge out your pie hole I think you are most likely a half assed, shitty engineer who couldn’t make it anywhere. Bet you couldn't troubleshoot yourself off the toilet if you tried. You are bitter about that aren’t you? Seriously, do us all favour and jump OFF that cliff ! In all seriousness, wipe the cheesies off your hands and your d#$k and go get laid. It might help your situation. You know bud, if you weren’t such a victim I would give you a heads up when we are hiring. Then you might get paid the wage you always say you deserve ( trust me I know how much you think you are worth, and buddy I make it and more)…. We have all read your crap and trust me I can speak for all the engineers I work with, one, we don’t want your type, two, you would'nt last.
Sincerely,
waiting for some drawn out pathetic rambling response from Pat "the victim" Richard, with some grammer and spelling corrections

Have some issues, huh amigo??
Not the least of which appears to be conceit... an always desirable trait in an apprentice.
Fantastic analytical skills though, you figured me out 100%, LOL! Make believe what you want about me, but that response had juvenile redneck loser(ispeakforeverybody/budx4/igetlaidudont/Icanoutroubleshootyou/imasmartermechanic makingmoremoneythanyouandyouareashittyone, blah, blah, blah, blah) screaming from it, but Im sure you feel it was epic, right?.
But lets be honest, you were trolling for me, weren't you sweety? I have a bad temper so I bit, but I am flattered you so obviously singled me out.
You'll fit right in at voyageur, superwrench, just not sure who deserves who...
buh bye, hero.

Seriously folks, if you have ask about this company by now...you are not doing your home work and deserve what you get.

Re: Voyageur AME overseas
Nice work bashedknuckles, you call a senior member out and flame him in a public forum where he is well established. You claim to make more money than him, awesome. I will compare T4s over a beer any time you are ready. Pat for the most part has a very accurate cross section of the industry, something he has gained over years of living through it. I agree with what Pat posts, but i didn't always feel that way. I am 13 years in and the glow i once had for the industry is gone, there truely is wisdom in those that cut thier teeth before you. It may take a few years, but eventually you will get it. Some day you will get out of bed and realize you are on your way to work, only to do your job while training cocky assholes like you. It gets old fast, proctologists see less assholes in a week than AMEs. It is aviation, by nature it breeds pricks that think they know it all because thier dad was a pilot, they played flight sim on PC, or they were in air cadets. Wait til you get a taste of the industry and are actually held accountable for a fleet, including the testosterone beneath you, then you have an arguement. Until then, keep swinging. Its funny for us older, wiser types. We have already lived through what you artificially never expect to see.

Well said TCAS
How can you tell which one is the pilot when you walk into a bar?....Don't worry he will come up and tell you.

Re: Voyageur AME overseas
Fair enough, I conceit. Apologies Pat. I admit your take on most of this industry is on par. Had no right to call you out like that. I'm in a pretty good place where most of the senior guys are 25 plus yrs here and happy. We get a great wage lots of time off and are treated like gold....better than the pilots if you can believe it. I do sometimes forget the 90% of the rest of the industry. I did see it for the first four years of my career and yes it was ugly. TCAS was spot on. Sry for calling you out like that, you've earned the right to your opinions. I do respect your more experienced point of views. Gotta find a way to bring this profession to where it should be for all the AMEs in this country. Appologies to Pat.
sincerely,

Yes he does, on a selective basis. If I was a gray hair it would be called "semi retired".twotter wrote:Does Pat even still work in the industry?

Re: Voyageur AME overseas
I often wonder about all the voyageur bashing on here, I've survived it for almost two years now and I can honestly say its not so bad. So what do you want to know?
