I read this twice and still understood it the same way. To me, it looks like the company is running a business and instead of paying pilots, you pay to fly for them. Hmmmm, I think I need to open a business like this!!!

I have heard about people working for free to get hours, but this is just crazy!!!!

Is this Canada or the US?

I think a company in BC did something like this a few years ago and got shut down. Either you are an employee (and getting paid min wage) or a student (then you can't do revenue flights).

I wonder if it's the same company, but wasn't Alpine Air trying to do something like this in the states? If it is them you're talking about, they want $27,000 to fly the 1900, and you only get 25-40 hours per month.

Brand XXXX has had two crashes in Montana I can recall -- one on an IFR takeoff which killed their chief pilot, and then one on a mail flight, I believe he was in good weather on a VFR night, but had leveled off at either 8500 or 9500 MSL.

If you ever flew in Montana, you sure wouldn't level off that low at night....

Anyway -- sad events...

I wouldn't go anywhere near them, from the comments I've heard.... but, that was a few years ago..

Check out Eagle Jet International in the US. You can pay them for first officer training on anything from a Be99 to A340. Check out their pricing list. Sad thing is, according to threads on PPRUNE, there are waiting lists for most of their programs!

One I was thinking of does more - less? - than that. You fly right seat for nothing but multi experience, and its not even PIC - good deal huh.

Geez Hedley - I won't pay you to ride that and cut your grass - I have a mortgage to pay for - I will however do a good job and treat your equipment with respect.

I guess the 185 _is_ technically bigger than a 150... And I suppose an employer would prefer 185 to 150 time... but I think they might be stretching it a touch.
