Herd from a little birdy that Cargojet pilots are going to take a 15% pay cut? what gives? They are not payed great to begin with and Cargojet is always in the black. They never been in the red. Someone is getting very rich. I thought things were turning around. Can anyone shed a light on this?
Re: Cargojet
Once again boys, you thought waht things were turning around?? Nothing is turning around, if anything it is going to get tighter and tighter..
Re: Cargojet

Re: Cargojet
I don't know, something is definitely going on at Cargojet, and nobody seems to know. Ajay probably doesn't know either! They seem to be short pilots, yet they don't hire. They make a profit, and yet ask for substantial pay cuts. They have put a hiring freeze on other departments as well, and lots of rumours have been flying around.
It would be good to know what's really going on over there because something's brewing.

Re: Cargojet
Maybe you could go on strike for better pay and working conditions. I'm pretty sure AmeriJet pilots wouldn't hesitate coming north and picking up your flying while you are.
Re: Cargojet
Who is this birdy?
Let me guess, Mtce is next?! Regional Especially!!

Re: Cargojet
Maybe they should turn off that big bright casino sign they have on the new hangar....that might save them some $$$
. As long as the shareholders as satisified then thats all that matters. Hopefully this doesnt affect the "Regional" guys seeing as they make peanuts to begin with.
The only open door policy at cargojet is when you are on your way out...

Re: Cargojet
Its evident that some of you may not be happy at CJ, so quit...no one is forcing you to stay. Why are you big mouths just shooting off without obtaining a general consensus from all of us. For those of us who believe in Ajay and the team at Cargojet, I would suggest you guys keep your opinions to yourself. For some of us, who have been here since Cargojet's inception...we believe in Ajay and his open door policy. He has done nothing but great things for this company, his leadership is respected by all in the industry! Cargojet is the envy in the marketplace...Why dont you guys look at what just recently happened at Skyservice? Is that what you are interested in? Cargojet has always been proactive and conservative....so Ajay and Jamie have OUR entire support...for those few who just like to chat...find another place to hang your hat..not many aviation choices in Canada. Two ways to deal with these situations be a team player or a whiner! So you whiners, be quiet and dont stir the pot for the rest...because we do believe in Ajay and Cargojet.

I wonder if the former All Canada Express pilots who signed union cards would still be blacklisted?

Re: Cargojet
Cargojet froze salaries and cancelled the rrsp plan last year, yet they made huge profits
Cargojet is asking for 15% and a cancelled rrsp plan again
Shareholder will benefit while the employees struggle to pay bills, forgot to mention Ajay Virmani is the largest shareholder
Cargojet will continue to make millions and will distribute another special dividend to its shareholders. Did I mention Ajay Virmani is the largest shareholder?
Boys and girls go get your cards signed, salaries and working conditions will be frozen.
If you don't Cargojet will ask for further reductions next year

Re: Cargojet
Looks like they're about to do lots of training soon because everyone has a resume out there and looking to leave. This will probably cost AJ more in the long run. Some of these CEO should be ashamed of themselves. Hopeful the Cargojet Boys\Gals finaly wake up and do something about it by leaving or start pushing back. Open door policy's never work unless your working at a company with three airplanes. Just look at these boys\gals they haven't gone far with this policy. Should I call it Trap door lol.

You don't even believe it yourself!
Re: Cargojet
now you guys are not only funny but getting to be pathetic...yeah, I am the CEO??? I have been with CJ for a very long time and have had an opportunity to use the open door policy and know it works first hand. Grunt why dont you be a real man and try the open door route...rather than airing your dirty laundry on the forum or do you prefer to hide behind the forum? If you dont like Cargojet...here's an answer for you leave..I am sure with your positive attiude anyone would hire you..
Yeah, you guys are right..AJ is smart..very smart and that's why CJ is where it is today...do you need a walk down memory lane boys/girls...and what happened to all of the air cargo carriers before CJ? And as for luxury items..what about KFC's CEO who has private planes and luxury yachts?
For those of us that are happy and believe in CJ..leave us alone...the ones that dont no one is inviting you to stay...leave...
When times have been good at CJ the managment has been extremely fair..the communication is excellent, VP of flight ops always does an excellent job of keeping us in the loop. Cargojet is a fair organization who believes in people and if they need us to go the extra mile we will....when I have needed them, they have never let me down..they are good decent folks who will be around along time....a

Re: Cargojet
They're already the hardest working, lowest paid, Boeing drivers in Canada, now this?
So many of them have long said that they can't afford to leave CJT, now it seems they can't afford to stay.
They've long been the victoms of kneejerk, epimethian management, and here they are again. Those who have stayed truly are the tragic fools.
If indeed the conference call on Monday confirms the aforementioned rumours, than know that these guys and gals-some of the best people in this industry you could ever share a flightdeck with-will be looking hard to get out. Whatever money the company saves this week will paid out in multiples later with re-training costs as the ranks are decimated. Anyone with any experience in this industry knows this.
CJT will survive, but as so many times before, the brightest and the best will be long gone. I only hope they're gone in time to avoid the race to the bottom.

Re: Cargojet
Just to let you guys know, the conference is not about getting 15% paycut and a cancellation of the RRSP. Jazz's contract with Thomas Cook didn't go thru so now we're flying 757's for them!!! We got the Thomas Cook contract boys!! We need more 757 pilots and mechanics!!

Re: Cargojet
It seems like for someone who works in the office, that an attitude of "if you don't like it, leave" is the complete opposite of an "open-door" policy. If people are unhappy, don't call them cowards. That stinks of "Well, this is what we're doing, so you take it or go - we'll find someone who will do the job for less than you, and they won't complain".
If several people are saying they are becoming fed-up, and one is saying that it's great (while accusing the others of cowardice, and being "pathetic") then I'd side with the majority.
Try to deal with the issues, rather than denying them.
