AIR CANADA NEWS
Air Canada best airline in North America in international survey.
Air Canada has been ranked ‘Best Airline North America’ in a worldwide survey of more than 17 million air travelers as announced today in Hamburg, Germany at the Skytrax World Airline Awards. The survey was conducted by independent research firm Skytrax between July 2009 and April 2010 using over 38 different aspects of passenger satisfaction to rank airlines’ product and service standards. This annual survey is regarded in the air transportation industry as a primary benchmarking tool for passenger satisfaction levels of airlines throughout the world.
“It is an honour to once again be acknowledged by air travellers around the world as the best airline in North America,” said Calin in the press release issued this morning. “This most recent poll of 17 million airline passengers underscores our progress in providing our customers with a world class travel experience and an industry leading product. I am incredibly proud of our employees whose dedication and professionalism are recognized by this prestigious award. In effect passengers are recognizing the culture change underway at Air Canada and the excellent employee brand that has developed.”
Skytrax World Airline Awards is the established, global barometer of passenger opinions about airlines around the world. Free of outside or financial influences, it comprises more than 100 different respondent nationalities in 2010. Good job, and great effort to all parties involved.
I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers...
Re: Best Airline in North America (again)
Cool .. when do we get our service charge free C1's again?

What a scam that was.Localizer wrote:Cool .. when do we get our service charge free C1's again?
Monte: "Congratulations to the employees. In recognition of their hard word and achievement in winning this award the company would like to offer them the limited time opportunity to give some more money to the executive bonuses by buying C1 passes. Oh, and if you get bumped off your flight with a C1, sorry but we can't reimburse you, so you'll be stuck somewhere and be charged for it. That's how we roll."
Doubt there will be any offer of service charge free C1's this year as employees in J obviously devalue the product as was recently pointed out. Thanks again for all you do.

You don't get charged for it if you don't get on!yycflyguy wrote: Monte: "Congratulations to the employees. Just you! If you do not board the aircraft there is no record of you being on it, so no charge. It is not based on being registered to fly, only when your boarding pass is scaned as you board.

Well then... pay claim will be filed this week.whiteguy wrote:yycflyguy wrote: Negative ghost rider! C1 incentives are charged to the employee whether or not bum meets seat! Or maybe just me.

I would. You shouldn't have lost it if you didn't travel.
Re: Best Airline in North America (again)
I just returned from the round trip to the southern states on AC using C1's. All I have to say is great work!!! The service from check in to deplaning was top notch, the fresh baked cookies and ice cream were a nice surprise, and the food on the menus was well above what I would have considered "airplane food". A great experience and a well deserved reward.

My wife is a Jazz FA. So I'm very fortunate to get the best of both worlds.
It was a great trip, made that much better by the J class seats with the fanstastic service we recieved. Again, a reward well deserved.

yycflyguy - maybe you were getting confused with the other policy... You won't get a C1 refund if you're stuck in the back end

We didn't even have the option of riding in the back... turned into an expensive vacation!

Re: Best Airline in North America (again)
The C1 pass is nothing more than a scam and should be abolished in my opinion. Nothing more than a vehicle for juniors to buy seniority and bump a fellow senior employee while the company charges up to 10 times the value of a C2 and offers no guarantee of business class or otherwise. I have never used one, free or otherwise and never will.
The pointy end of a big wedge. Get people accustomed to paying more for their travel passes.
