That`s awful that people are getting layed off.
It`s hard for a private business to suddenly have to compete against a government backed ``non-profit``. At least it was known for a while that Ornge was going to hit Bravo`s work. I hope the affected have been applying elsewhere and working on a Plan B for some time now. The industry is picking up now so that will help a lot. Why not go fly for Ornge? Same machines operating to the same places with the same people in the back. They`d be stupid not to take you.

<snip>

Good luck.

Off topic? In who's opinion?
Ornge is a major cause for lay offs with Bravo. How is this off topic?????

The bond at Bravo is much much less than 30 K. It is a little longer than a year because it takes effect after line indoc and certification is completed, However the terms are very fair compared to other companies. FO's also have a bond but the small monetary value associated with it is to make people think twice about gaining a type rating and jumping ship right away.

Im not a fan of Training Bonds, but Bravo seems to have kept their system in line with industry practices. They also provide a great opportunity for a young pilot willing to work hard. FO's are upgraded fast and all employees gain valuable flying experience and are well compensated for their work. Medivac flying draws fire on occasion for working conditions, which sometimes get confused with company treatment of pilots. Its hard work, It takes discipline in sleep habits and more airmanship than would be expected of an airline pilot, However its a rewarding position with a solid company, a company that has and will continue to launch successful careers and provide a critical service to the people of Ontario.

I heard it was only 3K for a year. I hope 30K was never a serious number, you can almost buy a PC-12 sim for that...
