Question:

Post by Switchfoot »

Does anyone know if the new passenger weights are appearing in TC exam questions yet? How about the flight test standards (new ones)? :?

I'm studying for an instructor written upgrade. Thanks.

I just received the new Flight Test Standards today in the mail from TC, they begin April 1, 2005. They should be available for download from http://www.tc.gc.ca/air

I can't see the AIRAT getting modified to include passenger weights for some time...in fact, I don't remember those questions being on the exam in the first place...so you should be fine - that being said I guess it wouldn't hurt to commit them to memory anyways.

I think for a question to get changed on the exam, it takes a review board, a bunch of lawyers, and probably a peer review. Seeing as it takes me over a month just to pin down an IFR ride for a student, I really can't see TC being rushed to do this.

Cheers

Not sure what to say for that one. I also heard that the new weights come into effect on April 1, 2005. But I can't see Transport having all the test updated for quite some time.
As for me, I am also doing the Instructor wriiten in a couple of days and am commiting both to memory. Can't see both being an option so it comes down to process of elimination.

Learn both sets of weights and do double calculations. Choose the closest answer to yours. In any event, like Brad mentioned, I doubt TC changed anything.

learn the new weights. If a question comes up and the answer dosen't look correct ask the person behind the desk. TC has always been good about changes and the effect they have on an exam. The new weights came into effect january 2005.
