This could have gone horribly wrong a number of times. It looks like it might be a pilot induced oscillation possibly from trying to waggle it onto the runway after a bit of a float?

Whatever it was I'm still puckered up from watching it.

Looks like one of MY landings!

I feel sea-sick just from watching that. I had no idea that an airliner's control surfaces could move so fast. I thought my landings in the 152 were ugly last weekend (cross winds of 11, gusting to 19), but wow...

Get there-itis maybe? There is a lot of pressure in the cockpit and from the looks of it he just wanted to land it.

A low energy go around after a long float/few bounces...That's one for the sim...Depends on how much runway they had left, speed they were at if they initiated a go around, what effect power would have had during a bounce, and if the tail would hit/drag. If I was in there shoes I probably would have continued the landing and just held a landing attitude and dropped it on, not try to finesse it one.
Then again maybe that’s what they did after it got squirrelly.

Well that didn't take long to go from stablized to destabilized!

Everything looks normal into the flair, then for some reason there is a healthy does of right aileron and spoiler that drops the right wing about 4' or so and the right main contacts the runway and of course starts the roll PIO.

He seems to apply a good does of down elevator at one point and then you get all three gear taking turns carrying the weight of the plane

Wonder what caused that first sudden aileron input.

It looks to me like lack of airspeed wasn't the issue. Notice he had the speed brakes open. He had a pretty stiff X-wind and found him high & hot on approach. (I think London City has a 5-degree approach path). Stuffed the nose down to get it down, but didn't flare early enough to arrest the descent.

But what do I know, the fastest thing I've flown is a Cardinal.

The BAe for sure is the worst. But hey, the pax got a 3 for 1 landing. What more can you ask for?
