Red Pass
Just wondering, other than discounts at hotels and car rentals, what do red passes get you deals on? I've heard of them getting employees VIP or front of the line and no cover at bars, and discounts at certain restaurants (not sure what ones).
Anyone care to share the true value of our Red Passes?

Re: Red Pass
Yeah, you can have VIP service and skip the line at Woody's Bar. Just don't tell the owner you're a pilot.

Terminal Tuesdays at the Flying Beaver in YVR. Can't remember the discount but I think it is 20%.

Re: Red Pass
Here's a tip.
You get yourself infront of the line, or not paying cover, the red pass is just a prop in your 'play'.

Re: Red Pass
A friend of mine tried to use his red pass as his 'picture id' to accompany a boarding pass and was refused. A driver's license out of a cracker jacks box - yes. Red pass - no. Sometimes I wonder...

Re: Red Pass
What?? Brutal. It has to be government-issued photo ID...I think a red pass fits that criteria.

Yeah, I've had that too. The Red Pass is not government issued. It is issued from the respective Airport Authority so it does not qualify if the agents get picky.

I got a 10% on booze and smokes at the duty-free in Seattle.

Re: Red Pass
BTW Red pass IS acceptable to travel with since it is actually issued by TC. The AA just actions the issue. (In my case it's moot since the port authority is an agency of the federal government anyway

Free admission to the Tijuana donkey show. Downside: You're the donkey.

Re: Red Pass
Maple,
That's weird. I've been told that it is 100% ok to use when flying as a passenger, and was even required when using staff travel or interline. As long as you are not using it to gain access to the airside when not required, (AKA you have a boarding pass and go through CATSA) it's just another form of government ID. If you Bypass or go airside without a boarding pass when not working, then you get your pass taken away.

Flash the pass and Burger King will slide in an extra paddy! Wear it in Richmond and I swear that jack up the price because they know you're employed!
