I dunno, maybe because one of their 330's did the same thing about a week before, same reason. Or maybe since they're talking to Moncton Centre they think that Moncton is a big city or something rediculous like that.

A Lufthansa Boeing 747-400, registration D-ABVA performing flight LH-404 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to New York JFK,NY (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 130nm southsouthwest of Moncton,NB when the crew reported a medical emergency on board and decided to divert to Moncton advising ATC they had no charts of the airfield asking for ATIS frequency, LOC frequency, field elevation and requesting a visual approach. The airplane landed safely on Moncton's runway 29 about 30 minutes later.

The airplane reached New York with a delay of 3 hours.
