I covered myself in paprika and garlic salt before I called them, still no joy.

I did the interview in June for the July ground school and august sim...they were looking for 12 pilots for YUL...5 aircraft for now but they want to operate 14 this winter....but it will be for somebody else because it didn't work for me....

Canjet hired a large group of very experienced pilots (non-type rated) over the summer to start as FOs, with hopes that all of the "seasonal captain" slots will be filled from within. Hopefully most of the seasonal captains will be permanent (or as permanent as this business gets), with the possibility of deployments looming.

I think that most if not all of the contract pilots will be FOs, type rated of course, as there simply is not enough time to train the numbers for initials.

so those guys are type rated.

Where do they come from? Where did they get their type rating?

Almost all from Germany !!!!

If you read carefully you'll understand that they hired experienced Canadian pilots (non type-rated but with jet time) and contract pilots (type-rated this time) most probably from Germany,

It would be great to hire as many non-type rated pilots as there are slots to fill, but it simply is not possible. You could have a training dept. staffed to bursting, but if you don't have the flights to do line indocs then how do you get everyone on line in time for the winter season?? Canjet's flying schedule is decent over the summer for 5 aircraft, but that is for 3-4 months only, then the shoulder season kicks in....

Heard from an FA that they weren't going to be going with TUI and the Germans again, but that they would be taking in pilots from France.
