Calgary couple outraged over pilot's comment
A Calgary couple is angry after an American Airlines pilot incorrectly linked the smoke over Calgary last week to oilsands development.
The Chicago to Calgary flight landed last week as the city was under an air quality advisory due to BC wildfires.
Passenger Bradley Everett tells CTV he's outraged the pilot made the comment over the intercom.
"He said the temperature is 19 degrees Celsius and it's very hazy in Calgary and he said that the haze was due to smog from Alberta tar sands and fires."
American Airlines is investigating.

Albertans are working diligently to ensure that their province will soon be a toxic wasteland, but with a great view of BC.

Anyway, the Athabasca river pike were always this big:

And Just because my dog and my wallet are both onna chain don't mean I'm a red neck, eh.

That's < actually kind of a good book.
I didn't know that the Provincial government actually endorsed geologist Manley Natlands plan - they bought a nuclear weapon back in the "atoms for peace " decade-were gonna pop it off in the oil sands- Diefenbaker getting elected slowed the idea, then they hit oil in Alaska and the yanks called it off, and got their bomb back. True story.

I'm outraged at the media for even giving a @#$! about this.
Don't they have some scandal in Ottawa they can cover? I'm sure if they look, it wouldn't be hard to find one.
I heard Stephen Harper is a Muslim and Transport Canada is behind the chemtrails controlling my mind- there's a good start.

Them Yanks just got jealous...

Re: Calgary couple outraged over pilot's comment
The tarsands are irrelevant - according to the newspaper, Alberta gets more revenue from gambling and booze. Gotta love those sin taxes!

Does add some justification for Alberta's propaganda ads. No wait it doesn't...

As far as the question of "will America buy tarsands oil?" goes, I'll simply answer it with another question. Will it fuel a Cadillac Escalade?
All else is noise and posturing.
BTW, I'd love to see the tarsands go to nuclear power. Burning Natural Gas to extract Bitumen seems to me to be almost a definition of insanity.

Re: Calgary couple outraged over pilot's comment
Ditto. Nothing would thrill me more than seeing a few dedicated CANDU's set up to generate power and high temperature steam for bitumen extraction. The devil would be finding the right locations with access to enough water, and the possibility of waste water return for recycling.Conquest Driver wrote:As far as the question of "will America buy tarsands oil?" goes, I'll simply answer it with another question. Of course I'm also one of the odd ducks who can't grasp why we are not seriously exploring a spent fuel reprocessing system. Clearly wiser heads can explain why it is preferable to stockpile all the spent fuel the reactor will ever use forever, rather than reprocessing the spent fuel and cladding into new fuel rods, and storing only the 4% by volume or decay products.
