The quickest way to end a war is to lose it.

Wow first post is an anti-war one.
It's about the lives lost on 9/11 not your personal opinion.
Never forget.

Never forget.
Tens of thousands of innocent lives were taken in Iraq and Afghanistan by the horrible flawed reaction to the 9-11 attack. Their lives are no less valuable and present no less a tragedy to their loved ones than American lives.
NEVER FORGET

Never forget, I agree on that. Feel free to make your own decision on what you won't forget.

Just a little info for the gents who bring up the civilian deaths in the Iraq/Afghan wars...
WWI produced 6+ million deaths
WWII produced civilian deaths, due to war and repression, of 45+ million. This is not including the almost 6 million from the holocaust.
This is not justification. I don't give a rats arse if you agree/disagree.....just the facts, JACK

Like Vietnam, Iraq and the Afghanistan conflicts will accomplish very little if anything, Iraq/Vietnam were American initiatives. While Afghanistan is NATO, we all know who controlled that.
An old goat like me tires easily of this 9/11 commentary....... just sick of being constantly reminded.

totally agree with you Old Fella
i grow very tired of honouring the murderous death of my fellow aviators every September 11th
thanks to all of you for totally derailing my thread that was intended to honour the death of our fellow aviators

I think people have a problem with the "never forget" slogan because it implies that you blame someone and you will never forgive them, like there is a large group responsible for it all and you want them to pay for what they've done. It was in fact a small bunch of fanaticals, not an entire religion or people. People shout "never forget" when they want revenge and they think it's okay to carpet bomb another country.
It was a tragedy. Holding on to hatred doesn't honour anyone, it only creates more unneeded fear and fighting.

How could we forget when the neocons have reminded us at every opportunity in order to further their own Machiavellian goals. I hope we never forget what we let our "leaders" con us into.

OMFG PEOPLE!
If you want debate the political aftermath of the day 8 of your fellow pilots and a dozen or two FA's died along with their passengers, and several thousand on the ground, go join one of the many threads or start one in the Misc/Political Debate Forum.
mattedfred asked you to take a minute from your day and think about those who showed up for a routine day at work (as routine as one can expect in the aviation business) and it didn't quite turn out that way.
Sept 11 being over now, and the usual thread drift having destroyed the message, thread locked.
