Ive met pilots from aT that weren't bilingual. Id imagine the vast majority are bilingual though.

Unless they can justify speaking French as "genuine and directly related to the performance of the job" they are likely in contravention of the Ontario Human Rights Code. So anyone who does not speak French should apply anyway.
Just looked at the ad. Questions regarding Canadian Citizenship or Landed Status are specifically prohibited. The only permissible question is "are you legally entitled to work in Canada?".

You're right. They can't refuse to HIRE you over another candidate, but they CAN choose not to interview you.
Basically, its an easy way of cutting down that pile of 3500+ resumes. Apply anyway... what's the worst that could happen?

Curious to know what their new pay scales are now after the new Collective Agreement?

Dated info perhaps........about 10 years ago, they called me for an interview. On the phone the guy started to speak french to me. I said i'm sorry I don't speak french. His response - no problem, if hired would you take a course? I got invited to an interview on the spot. In the end, I was offered a job elsewhere (another carrier) before the interview, so that's all I have to say about that.
The operation seemed very professional.
