Going for a drive...

Post by eep...2 Green »

If you had to choose between one of two cars to put your family into that would be travelling 240 km/h, one was being driven by a person between 28 years old and 60 years old the other was driven by a person over the age of 60, which car would you choose?

Make sure you think about the elder driver.

Now think about your mother, your wife, your sister, your daughter.

I would say that the age, in itself, is not enough information on which to base my decision.

What about brother, son, husband and father?

I agree with ditar, not enough info here. First of all, my family wouldn't be in a car with someone travelling as fast as that. I ride a sport bike and I don't even hit that speed very often. Although, I get where you are going with this.

I'd take the older driver - they'd have enough sense to not speed excessively with someone's family in the back...

28 years old and 60 years old
For that age grouping,... a rickshaw

Unless there is a river; then the older, more experienced driver should take over

Are they any loose packs of dogs on this 240 km route? That would have a bearing on vehicle selection...

If there's dogs, or rivers-in my experience then a big Humvee or a Mercedes is best.

Seriously.

A Humvee or a Mercedes Benz is best for a 240 km trip.

If you took your family to Subway for dinner would you order you sandwich from the 28 year old 'sandwich artist' or the 65 year old 'sandwich artist'? The 28 year old may lack sandwich making experience and may short change you on your chicken! However the 65 year old may have shaky hands making equal spacing of your tomatoes difficult!

Subway?? Let's try and keep this on topic. A 240 km journey with river crossing, dog packs, and big hills.

My vote is for some kind of hoverbike.

If someone who had no knowledge of the aviation industry were to read this thread, they would come to the conclusion that many pilots smoke crack.

Depends.
Is the old guy Stirling Moss or my grandfather.

Is the young driver Lewis Hamilton or this guy:

Who says 240KM.h isn't safe? I love when people drive the speed limit thinking they're being a safe driver. All it proves is that you can follow the law.

For those of us who are removed from Air Canada culture, is there a link to said case?

Mandatory retirement perhaps?
Personally, I don't care how old the pilots are, as long as they can deal with an engine fire on approach, in moderate icing, with the autopilots u/s.

28/60/60+/doesn't matter the car!
Not a single one of them will get to drive my family around if they are stupid enough to bust the road speed limit by 140km/h

Another ball game if it's inside a closed circuit. One at the time maybe, doesn't matter the age and minimum a Porsche a Lambo or a Ferrari :smt003
