Air Canada commute - YHZ
Hi. Wondering if anyone could let me know what commuting out of YHZ works for a junior pilot with A/C. Would love to get any info on what one could expect if the goal is to be home in YHZ as often as possible. PM me if possible. Thanks!

If your junior, Good luck. YHZ is a super senior base.

A) Halifax isn't a base for mainline.
B) I'm super junior, and I didn't run into any problems getting out of YHZ this summer (peak season). That said, I often didn't make a flight I wanted, but I never got stuck needing to go to work, or come back.

Plus, you can always jumpseat on WJ.
Also, if you bid YHZ layovers, you can be at home more than a YYZ pilot.

I heard that if you include all the Pilots & F/As that commute out of Halifax there are about 500 people that commute...
I want to die like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep. Not screaming in terror like his passengers...
