CAP Gen Exams
Is there anyone out there who has made a CAP GEN exam for their students that they are willing to share with me? Or know of any references you can direct me too so I can look it up? I know it's not a memory item but I want to know how well I know it by being tested from an exam. This way I know where my weaknesses are!
Thank you!
Thank you!

Get your significant other/mom/dad to ask you questions on it - when they look puzzled by your answers, acronyms and all, you'll have to explain things to them. Half way through your explanation (teaching it to them) you'll know yourself whether you know it or not..
Say, what's that mountain goat doing up here in the mist?

I will also add on the oral portion of your flight test when asked a question, PULL IT OUT. There is no penalty for using so use it. Being able to reference and use it correctly is an important skill, plus you are not relying on memory during a stressful time. To me using shows good CRM

Bedside reading is the best,
However, this test also helped a lot in seeing where your knowledge stands.

Re: CAP Gen Exams
I like 200 hr wonder's answer...I frequently test winged and almost winged military pilots, and what makes me smile most when I give them an emergency or comm fail etc is the line..."Pull out the book"...In my book, that's better than "knowing what to do" from memory. Trust me, knowing where to find accurate info is much better than thinking you know what to do without referencing the resources readily available to you. Much like emergency responses...as the AC, I personnally like "Co-pilot, you have control,my radios, Engineer, break out the checklist for..." Same with the CAP...what do you do in case of a comm fail..."PULL OUT THE BOOK"
