The initiative of the rightwing Swiss People’s Party, aims at the automatic deportation of foreigners convicted of serious crimes such as murder, rape, other serious sexual charges, violence such as armed robbery, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and breaking and entering. Welfare fraud is also included.

We need immigration, but you can't seriously look at the numbers of uneducated, unqualified, unmotivated scum that we've had land on our shores and say our immigration policy is working.

We need immigration to fill our citys and towns with more eager hard working citizens. Clearly we have huge numbers of recent immigrants who fit that description. Clearly we also have huge numbers of recent immigrants who've done nothing but add to our prison population and welfare rolls.

We look back with horror at the thought that when boats filled with European Jews fled Nazi Germany, we didn't do enough to help. Now we allow terrorists and criminals in and cross our fingers.

It's complimentary to know that people value and love your home country. It's flattering and validating. However, look at the countries that are knocking on Canada's door.

It's weird, but I sometimes get the sense that in Canada, it's more important to be polite and welcoming, than to draw the line.

You really have to hand it to the Swiss people, a year ago they banned minaret’s, the Muslim world went Ape (no offense meant towards the Apes) after all I have never heard of an Ape going "Muslim" now that would be an insult to the Apes

Well now in Switzerland the Muslims have another opportunity to mimic a higher life form .. namely the Apes..- yes they will probably "go Ape again"

Swiss vote on expelling foreign criminals

People in Switzerland voted Sunday on a proposal to deport foreign criminals automatically after they serve sentences for serious offences.

The list of crimes includes murder, rape, robbery, drug dealing and human trafficking.

The right-wing Swiss People's Party put forward the proposal and said it expects a strong victory. Opinion polls indicate the measure will pass.

Two competing issues are on the ballot. The so-called Black Sheep initiative calls for the automatic deportation of convicted foreigners, with no right of appeal.

The second option, backed by parliament, includes a case-by-case examination to determine deportation.

Migrant rights advocate Yasmina Causevic said she doesn't believe either of the initiatives will affect crime rates.

"It's already possible to expel criminals who threaten national security, so there is absolutely no need for new laws," she said.

The Swiss People's Party has warned of threats posed by foreign criminals and its campaign featured posters showing a group of white sheep kicking a black sheep off the Swiss flag.

Currently, about 750 foreigners are expelled from Switzerland each year

The polls were right, 2R. Swiss voters have approved a referendum put forward by the Swiss People's Party to expel foreign born criminals.

GENEVA – Swiss voters on Sunday approved a plan to automatically deport foreigners who commit serious crimes or benefit fraud, in a significant victory for the nationalist party that pushed the proposal against the will of the government.
Some 52.9 percent of voters backed the proposal put forward by the nationalist Swiss People's Party, or SVP, according to Swiss national broadcaster SF1. The plan was opposed by 47.1 percent of voters.
A government-backed counterproposal failed. It would have required case-by-case review by a judge before an individual is deported.

This is the second time, the Swiss public has rejected the liberal, cultural-relativist appeals of their leaders and done the right thing. “Will of the government” my a*s! It’s the will of the people you’re meant to serve.

This is a positive step for Switzerland. Crime will grind to a halt because, as we know, criminals obey the law because of the consequences.

The next thing they should do is introduce a gun registry because it also reduces crime, as proven in Canada.

Canada has deported the same drug criminals many times they just come back on a different rental passport .
A firing squad is the only proven truly effective deterrence against hardened career criminals.
After the Opium wars in China it was the summary executions for those in possession of opium that saved the Chinese people from being poisoned by the highly addictive drugs brought into China by foriegners.

No particular group or religion is specified in the legislation, but it’s not hard to guess who the lawmakers had in mind.

The Swiss cabinet has put forward tougher measures to crack down on forced marriages.
In legislative proposals that will now be reviewed by parliament, the government has recommended automatic prosecution over forced marriages. Marriages with minors will also be illegal, whether they are contracted in or outside Switzerland.
Both types of marriage will be considered void, under the government plans.

In the future, cases where a person was threatened or made a victim of violence as a way of forcing them into marriage will be punishable by up to five years in prison for offenders. Currently the prison term can be up to three years.

THE Swiss have a proud history of preserving their heritage from minority groups that threaten their cohesiveness and refuse to assimilate. In 1348 the Swiss authorities rounded up 600 jews and burned them at the stake. And because of their generosity and fairness they spared their children, baptising them as good Christians and reintegrating them into society. Perhaps its the descendents of these children making these laws today. Perhaps the Swiss should enact a law similiar to the edict of 1434 requiring jews to attend conversion sessions, the 48 who refused were promptly burned at the stake. Hows that for forced assimilation? And the Swiss didnt want a repeat of their little Jewish problem, in their 1938 accord with Germany the swiss persuaded the Nazis to stamp a J on the passports of Jews, to prevent any Jewish immigration from Germany. Can we get some similiar immigration control here?

For you people who are praising the Swiss actions you should hang your heads in shame. To legitimise and want to emulate with a vile history like theirs? In Canada? I think you should get out of this country, id rather have the immigrants than scum like you.

One of you even suggested immigrating yourself. Go for it. See if they want you. Switzerland despite its human rights record also has more Nobel prizes per capita than any other nation, their engineering and products are seconf to none. The swiss flag is the stamp of quality and ingenuity. You think they need you to go there to change their oil? Dream on.

If you want to get in good with the Swiss, try money. Theyve whored themselves (literally and figuratively) for Arab money, whether its Ghaddafis or Saddan Husseins or the Sadis. I don't have any problems with the Swiss, probably because I'm white and of catholic origin.

The punitive measures they introduce from time to time do little other than lather up jack booted right wingers the world over.

I just wish they'd focus on making their wine drinkable.
