What do you mean by "a mind like yours"? I don't put anything THAT offensive on this forum. I'm not sure what thoughts came into your mind from the website address but I can assure you its safe for ALL eyes. No pornography or tasteless material on that link. So go ahead and click away. :smt024

*KNIGHT IN SHINING ARMOUR TO THE RESCUE*

Leave Chantal alone! She seems like a cool chick who has the balls to post on an all male sausagefest board. Kudos to her.

In my extensive work with women, I have generally learned that they don't have...ummmm...BALLS. But whatever you look for in women, Haza. It's all good.

the understanding you need is that a Girl likes a successful guy with a Career and someone whose mature and not acting like some fool, (trying to go out with all the girls), Being Friends First is the best thing, think about it

I can vouch for the "I've got money" effect...I know WAY too many guys that are seen by their "significant others" as wallets with legs - and an equal number of guys that wave bye-bye to half their paycheque every two weeks...because they rushed into a marriage in the past. I make a very comfortable living at the moment, but I still live quite modestly (partially to pay for my flying habit, and partially because I see no need to feed the rampant consumerism that's endemic in our society)

I don't have a problem with money-hungry harpies right now - my girlfriend makes a very comfortable living on her own. About the same income as I make. She's also okay with the fact that there is some poverty in my future-the fact that she is financially comfortable means that she doesn't have to rely on my earning power to get by. We both value the quality of life that we're living over the number of shiny things that we can purchase on a monthly basis.

All that I can say is that if the woman you're interested in rejects you because you're not making the kind of money that she thinks you should be, then she's doing you a favour. She's not looking for a man, she's looking for a wallet with legs...and five years down the road, she's simply going to sink her financial claws into you, and then drop you on your @ss.

Don't take this post as mysoginistic or an attack on women in general. There's nothing wrong with a woman who doesn't want to be involved with a guy that doesn't have any goals or ambition...but if a woman can't understand that your goals in life involve doing something that you love as opposed to making the most money possible, then there IS something wrong with her.

Ladies, if this post offends you...then you're part of the problem that I'm talking about!

You forgot to mention that almost all guys want a girlfriend who is making money, and you might as well say that you really like your girlfriend because she is making good money and I know of LOTS of guys like that.
And you are planning to be poor because shes making money wth, and what if the two of you have children? and you will need children if you want to stay together just ask alot of older, non divorced, married couples

I'm sorry to have to break it to you like that but Guys don't like women for their money. I'll leave it up to other users to list what we like in women. Guys who look for rich girls are either losers, unemployed or just poor pilots (they'll most likely move on if a nice airline calls them up for a 6 figure salary and if not, they have a wallet to dig into).

In fact, most successful guys would prefer to have a stay at home women (preferably hot). Why would I want my girlfriend/wife's career to interfere with mine? I don't want to have to pass up senior positions just because she doesn’t want to leave her 60 000 $ a year job...

Not my opinion, most male's opinion.

Chantal, maybe you should re-read the last line of my post above...

My girlfriend is sitting here rubbing my back as I type this. Yes, I like the fact that she is financially independent - but I'd still be with her if she was making $20,000 a year instead of four times that much. Neither of us is a drain on the other's financial well-being, and that's the way that we like it. If you can't understand that concept, then I again refer you back to the last line of my previous post.
