Crew member Visa for canadian citizens.

Post by Mustang06 »

Hi guys,

If you have to enter U.S. as a crew member (pilot) of a non Canadian registered aircraft from outside Canada, do you need a Crew Member Visa even if you are a Canadian passport holder?
Thanks in advance for your answer, fly safe

Disclaimer, I am not a US Immigration officier... only my opinions... etc.

As far as I know, you don't need a C1/D Visa:

Visa Requirements - Citizens of Canada, and Permanent Residents

Also, are you arriving from Canada with the foreign Aircraft

Code of Federal Regulations
Title 8: Aliens and Nationality
PART 252—LANDING OF ALIEN CREWMEN
...
(b)
(2) Canadian or British citizen crewmen of aircraft arriving in a State of the United States directly from Canada on flights originating in that country. The crew of a vessel arriving at a United States port that may not require inspection by or clearance from the United States Customs Service is, nevertheless, subject to examination under this part; however, the master of such a vessel is not required to present Form I–95 for any crewman who is not an applicant for a conditional landing permit.
