When was the last time this happened in YZF?
It looks like all the gas stations in Yellowknife are out of fuel.
I waited in line for 1 hour at a gas station to fill up last night. This morning every station in town is empty!
The airport has a limited supply of jet fuel and are asking southern operators to tanker return trip fuel.
Medevac flights will have fuel priority if the situation does not improve.
At the beginning of the week the grocery store shelves were bare. Since then a few YZF operators have been running 24 hour shuttles to Hay River and the food situation improved slightly.
The Mackenzie River Ferry has been down for a week and the ice road will not be ready until January.
They say the waters level are too low for the ferry to cross safely. Usually they say this happens for a day or two at a time and the situations does not look like it will improve anytime soon.
It sure would be nice to have that fancy bridge finished right about now.
I wonder what will happen when people run out for fuel for their vehicles....

Things may have changed in the last few years. When i lived there a few years back this happened every year any were from 4 days to a couple weeks. I believe every year they shut down for at least a 4 days due to ice. I think the last time it was down due to low water was 1998. Sounds like everyone got caught with low supplies. Not sure why as i said minimum of 4 days is normal.

In the 3 years it happened, it didn't happen very often. Only twice a year.

As long as the beer doesn't run out, then there should be no reason to panic.
