No-incident/accident certificate
One of the Far East carriers asks for a "No-incident/accident certificate issued by authority or previous employer" as one of the documents to be sent in for a job application. Seeing as one might not want their present employer to be aware of their pursuing of a new job, it would be preferable to get this from TC.
Will TC issue this certificate and if so, how do you go about getting one?
Thanks

Never heard of this one. I would guess the best bet is some kind of letter from TC

Yes I've gotten one of those previously for an Asian company. It's from Transport Canada, not your employer.
Just call TC and tell them you need a verification letter regarding your license. I can't remember the exact name of the form, but they'll know what you mean.
It basically lists all your qualifications and states if you license is under suspension or not, as well as some other supplemental info such as the expiry dates of any qualifications like your instrument and/or instructor rating.

Call your local TC office and ask to speak with a General Aviaition Inspector and provide the details.

Re: No-incident/accident certificate
It is one of those weird documents that foreign companies ask for that don't exist universally.
Recently asked for one from the authority in the country that I am working (as it is required by an airline in another country). Their response was that they don't issue this directly to licence holders, only to the CAA's of other members states. "Have their Authority contact us," was the basic response.

Re: No-incident/accident certificate
I phoned, and then emailed my request to a TC office, and they emailed me a Verification Letter within a few hours. (Kudos to the Abbotsford office.)
FYI, Email copy was fine in one country, but another country (UAE) needed the original letter.

Re: No-incident/accident certificate
TC's enforcement people, unfortunately sometimes give TC a bad name.
I too, had to get one, but the authority in the country wanted it directly from TC. TC responded to their request within literally, an hour...I was super impressed as was their authority.
Kudos to TC...(Pacific Region)
I do think having it sent directly to the employer or regulator provides a better system of integrity to the document.
TC will also issue type ratings on your license for airplanes that do not require type ratings in Canada like DHC 6, and islanders...even singles, as some countries want it on your license.
Anyway, my original intent was to say TC does good things most of the time and should be recognized for the good work as well as vilified for the bad..

Re: No-incident/accident certificate
The document they are looking for is not the licence verification letter. TC supplies that one as you have found out but you have to request the letter the Asian company is looking for from the TSB...for the Western Region contact Jonathan Lee at jonathan.lee@tsb.bst.gc.ca. Call first and he'll ask for your licence number etc. He will supply the no accident/incident letter.
