Wow ... what a skillful bit of aircraft handling and paramedic courage.
If I were the patient, I'd had a requirement for a change of underwear after that experience.

With the rather lacking SAR coverage here in Canada, there are a few high accident areas in BC/AB where civi SAR is used extremely effectively. The company I work for does this work as well. Response times are very fast, the crews both on the end of the line and at the controls are very well trained, and it has proven to be an extremely effective method for local SAR response.
