Wikileaks - exposing the corruptions that we all already knew exists, but still care too little to change. Let's scapegoat the politicians without accepting the link between American-style consumerism and the acceleration of decline.

The social pressures need to build more - that means a reduction in high quality energy. When the oil, coal, carbohydrates and protein are sufficiently reduced, then the people will revolt against Big Daddy.

The tribes of New Guinea did a better job.

Besides, revolting when things are gone to hell is simply too late.
And who says the revolutionaries are any better?

Hard to trump genetics.

It will all come down to how we treat our soil and our farmers.

No need for a revolution. Rome was burnt by the Romans, I believe...

I blame Niall Ferguson.

George Bush did well for himself. Made a nice pile of cash.

Right ... that's why people go to Washington, instead of Wall St.

I guess these days $25 million+ isn't considered a pile of cash.
Nor are estates any value.

Perhaps George Bush had genuine ideals?
Perhaps he really wanted to make things better?

Obama is our next scapegoat. It's all his fault!
Sarcasm aside, it's probably time to start hedging avgas.

Hmm....i'm not sure of the point you're trying to make anymore. If you have a sermon, speak it.

It is something to do with Bjorn Lomborg and Limits to Growth? Because I really don't care about that. My goal is to awaken people from their denial - and at the very least, stop buying coastal sea level property.

A tiny fact, that you are sure to ignore:

If you stop cranking, the planet will still continue to rotate. If you don't believe me, try it and see for yourself.

quote: The most blatant mind control tactics were seen in the coverage of the Yemeni terror bombs that had supposedly been sent to some unnamed Jewish organization in Chicago. Photographs of the interior of the explosive-laden computer printer revealed the bomber’s return address. The evil genius who made the bomb had left the sticker with the serial number in plain sight, allowing government sleuths to track the bomb to Al Qaida in Yemen. The face of the suspected Arab culprit was then shown on the screen. The mind control exercise was complete. The fanatic Muslim fear button had been pushed once again.

Meanwhile, there were horrendous terror bombings in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Iraq, in which hundreds of people were killed, and daily reports of C.I.A. missile strikes in Pakistan. The wicked asymmetry of the War on Terror could not be more obvious. The bombs sent to Islamic countries under U.S. occupation always cause huge numbers of casualties but are never investigated, while the bombs they send to us usually fail to detonate but make the headlines and are used to instill fear in the public. To be exposed to such mind-numbing propaganda was truly disturbing and left me feeling distinctly uneasy

Unfortunately Dash, your conspiracy theorist friend also thinks that the birds, ants, aunt Sally and yesterday's cheese sandwich are also party to a conspiracy.

[img]"I have commanded my forces that our mission is to kill, and we have great success with it...I don't reflect any further about taking peoples' lives," company chief Kristian Simonsen in Meymaneh, near the border with Turkmenistan, told VG magazine.

The Norwegian mission that Simonsen commands is called the Provincial Reconstruction Team (PRT) but what are they really constructing? What is the real purpose for the 500 Norwegian soldiers who are on a mission to kill Afghans in the province of Afghanistan that borders Turkmenistan? Could it be that greedy Norwegian oil oligarchs (read Statoil) are invested in the criminal scheme to occupy Afghanistan in order to build the TAPI gas pipeline from Turkmenistan to India

They want the cheese sandwiches, clearly.

Dash-Ate - you are correct with regards to oil and gas pipelines. However it would be wrong to say that is the sole and only reason for the occupation of Afghanistan and Iraq.

Second, if there is oil and gas available there, then countries need it, especially as we run out of our own. Corrupt countries that cling to their oil are a risk to present world empires. Old societies maintained complexity by using sunlight (coal) and grain. Todays society uses fossil fuels. If we don't take it and market it, then modern society will collapse internally. I only hope we transition to renewable energy before we run out of fossil fuels. Otherwise we may see the rise of brutal fascist dictatorships again.

It's no surprise that soldiers enjoy killing. In the same situation, many of us would find that we too see the enemy as "aliens" killing our "comrades", and find pleasure in the adrenaline rush of killing them. All we need to do is review history and observe our behavior. Some soldiers say the high is better than heroin. From our vantage point of prosperity in a safe seat, it's easy to judge, however we are no different.

If i sound psychopathic - consider this - it's happening presently, and our governments and public sanctify such actions by allowing it to happen.

We're all complicit. We're all responsible. And of course, all actions have reactions. How will the future play out?
