Navajo down in Saskatchewan this past week?

Post by PunkStarStudios »

On return to Toronto from Edmonton in a Navajo yesterday, I landed at a common stop (Sarnia) that I use for fuel. On landing they mentioned they heard a Navajo went down is Saskatchewan a day or two ago (around the same time I was passing through there).

I searched here, and did a google search and found nothing.

Has anyone heard anything about this or was this just another wild tale? (A pretty reliable source so I would be surprised if it were misinformation)

Only Navajo in the CADORS - only aircraft down was the Cessna 310R in New Brunswick.

2010-12-16 C-FJAL, a Fast Air Piper Navajo with 6 people on board, was on a VFR flight from Berens River (CYBV) to St. Andrews (CYAV) when the pilot reported that one engine failed and advised he was diverting to Gimli. ERS was called out on standby at Gimli. The pilot then advised ATC he was going to Winnipeg. ERS on called out on standby at YWG as the aircraft landed safely on Runway 31 at 2253z. The pilot then shut down on the runway which was unavailable for about 20 minutes until 2313z. TSB will contact the company.
