Fifty thousand dollar raise for each and every AC Pilot

Post by vic777 »

A very conservative estimate of the windfall gains accruing to AC over the next Ten years as a result of the end of age Sixty forced retirement is to the tune of Fifty Thousand dollars per year per Pilot. A good UNION would score these gains for the Pilots ... or down tools.

I'll point you in the right direction ...
It's simple math
let's say 100 Pilots are to retire every year on $100,000 pension
after Ten years these guys have been paid One hundred million dollars.
The 100 guys who retired the year after them have been paid Ninety million
and so on
the 100 Pilots who have been retired just one year were paid Ten million.
After Ten years the 1.000 retired Pilots will have been paid 550 Million dollars .... that's starting to get to be a large amount over one half billion dollars.
What does it cost to train a replacement from off the street?
At Fifty thousand dollars a pop, a low ball figure, it would cost AC Fifty million to replace these Pilots.
What is the savings from unecessary courses etc? Another half Billion?
There are many more windfall gains to AC.
Why don't you try and come up with one? (I'm not interested in doing all the work)
Will ACPA score any of these funds for the Pilots?

And how much would those pilots that didn’t end up retiring be making in comparison to a new Captain or 1st Officer?

A B777C gets B777C pay, a new Captain gets new Captain Pay whatever that is can be determined by the agreement, why not a flat pay/status pay system? Anyway this has nothing to do with the subject of this thread. Why doesn't ACPA score some of AC's windfall profits and give every Pilot a raise?

Good point Vic777....however windfall gains will be in company pocket if they use the scheme of pension + top up salary due to the fact they just dont know how to adjust for calculations of current pension system.... (sarcastic tone here)
