Another Low time guy.

I will not revert to the standard; I have less than x hours, how do i get that magical job. Rather, I have tail time, I have all the magic constant speed and retractable time. Now I'm looking to do something either as a Multi-IFR or as single engine pilot for another term. One route I've looked into is parachute dropping. I spent last summer part time dropping from a Cessna 206 and really enjoyed it. That job is no longer available.
Looking at dropzone.com and other parachute sites, it appears the major amount of flying is done in the USA. I haven't worked in the US, however I was wondering if anyone could give insight into how to get into the US system. As far as I can see theres a Work Visa to get past. That visa includes the famed IRS to look into the company's taxes while I work for them. In result, most places are definately inclinded to take a local pilot instead of myself.
There are paracute jobs out there, hours to be made, flying to be done, and enjoyable times to be had, even if the rest of the economy isn't moving. How do I do it...in the US.
Also, I've noted it's been mentioned heavily that its always who you know. If there is a drop zone looking for someone to work for them, or will be, and I could be contacted, that would be fantastic. As well any of the regular...multi-ifr, looking for that right seat dream or settling for the ramp job kind of advice is well received.
Thanks,
