Re: Using EI to get your ATPL Night CC hours...
They changed the rules of the "second career program" during my application process and I was no longer eligible because I had worked in the previous month even though I had been laid off for the winter, reported back to work in May to be laid off again in June. I had started the application in late June and I was working towards the MIFR. I got exactly $0 and wasted about 30+hrs working on their requirements just for application.

On a side note- anybody interested in getting a license or rating through the second career program, contact the Windsor Flying Club.
They know everything about the system, and how to get it to work. I wish they would have gotten their certification 3 years ago when I started flying, would have saved me a LOT of money.
The only problem for MIFR is they currently don't have a twin. Some dude bellied their Comanche a few years back. "3 green! or not......"

Windsor Flying Club Granted "Private Career College"
The Windsor Flying Club has been granted "Private Career College" status by the Provincial Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities under the Private Career Colleges act, 2005, providing this area of SouthWestern Ontario with the first and only facility furnishing complete training of Commercial Pilots and Flying Instructors approved as vocational programs under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
Men and women seeking a second career may now train in these fields at W.F.C. and may be eligible for substantial provincial subsidies. New classes are starting as applicant numbers dictate.
Private Pilot Training is also still available. This program does not require approval under the Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.
