Windy Days and Icy Runways
Sorry to hear about it. When we fly often enough, in the kind of conditions that you and I operate in, things like this happen. Keep a stiff upper lip. Don't let it get you down. It can (given the right/wrong? circumstances) happen to any of us. Rest assured, you have a friend, if you want to talk. If you read this, PM me. Cheers

Very tricky day out there. Consistently flying in the North day after day brings with it risks and sometimes shit happens. Keep you're head up boys!

A device is yet to be invented that will measure my indifference to this remark.

Re: Windy Days and Icy Runways
I have been reading a lot of 100% ice covered NOTAMS the past few weeks with the temps changing the way they are (up, down, up, down). I wouldn't even considering landing on a 100% ice runway with no wind.

1st thought, I tip my hat to Doc, classy response considering his previous reponses that had anything to do with this company, it appears his attitude softens somewhat when theres a personal connection.
2nd thought, BEFAN5 you are eliminating a large segment of the Canadian employment pool, pretty common winter NOTAM for any airport with lake, city, or river in the name. Airplanes have been landing on ice since the beginning of commercial aviation.

Re: Windy Days and Icy Runways
Thanks for that, but my problems with "this" company revolve around their bond policy, and their management style. I've never had anything but respect for their crews. They're polite, considerate and usually quite professional. In this environment, this type of mishap could, quite literally happen to anyone.Gorgons wrote:1st thought, I tip my hat to Doc, classy response considering his previous reponses that had anything to do with this company, it appears his attitude softens somewhat when theres a personal connection.
I haven't softened all that much. Try "forgetting" to put your wheels down, and see how soft I can be. LOL!
Re: Windy Days and Icy Runways
don't kid yourselves, all doc really wants to talk about is training bonds....like every other thread he hijacks.
