Medical Drugs allowed?

Post by EagerFloater »

Does anyone have a link to information on drugs allowed when acquiring a medical? I did see this one

viewtopic.php?f=112&t=63988

which has links for US medicals, however, I was looking for one which pertains to Canadian medicals and in particular one that has any information on corticosteroids. I have a medical coming up at the end of the month and was recently put on a corticosteroid. I would like to know as much about it as possible before going in for my medical.

Thanks

Call your local TC office, and ask to speak to the medical guys. Call yourself 'John Smith' if you are really paranoid (there's medication for that, too! ) and discuss it with them. Every time I've had a medical question/problem, they've been more than helpful, and it seems as if their default position is "how do we keep this guy flying for as long as possible, commensurate with safety?"

You can also call your medical examiner and just ask.
In all the classes I've been in they told me to call the examiner before taking any medication if you have a flight planned...

Thanks guys, I contacted TC who then connected me to a Doctor. He said that it should be fine and that as long as there is no blockage in my passages.

Success in life is when the cognac that you drink is older than the women you drink it with.
