As for the religious right comments, please take a minute to think about the whole of the subject.

Canadians tend to view themselves as more tolerant and accepting, a mozaic instead of a melting pot.

My fear is that we compromise and alter our society too much and too readily for people for whom compromise is a one way street.

When I look at our immigrant communities, most brought the old world to Canada, but over the next generations adopted many of the new countries habits while sharing the best they had to offer with the community. I'm not seeing the same with recent muslim immigrants.

Niss has now declared it “anti-Muslim bigotry” to take notice of what groups like the Muslim Brotherhood and others have explicitly told us they are doing; it is “anti-Muslim bigotry” to notice that the most visible of today’s pro-Muslim advocacy groups are front groups for those who support terrorism — and tell us so. It is “anti-Muslim bigotry” to recognize that a strain of Islam — the Islamist pro Sharia strain, which commingles religion and politics and declares the two inextricably linked — is being actively insinuated into communities here in the Canada and the US, with the attendant problems that such an insinuation is designed to cause.
Whereas, it is back-clapping time if you can manage to convince people that the bigger threat to Canada and the US are those awful hateful conservatives who insist on taking notice such things, particularly if taking notice means not blindly and self-importantly adopting the precepts of political correctness and then feigning OUTRAGE over the fact that others have noticed problems where you have been trained not even to look.
Here’s a question for Niss: is there in fact a Muslim menace, of the kind that is infecting Europe, where entire territories of modern European countries have devolved into no go zones for police, and are being run under Sharia law? If so, how is taking notice of .. and suggesting that we need be able to talk candidly about the ideology that foments such radicalization, a form of bigotry rather than an empirical observation? How is reality “hate”?
Conversely, if there is no radicalized Muslim menace in Western Europe, is Niss then accusing those European countries of inventing a problem that unfairly scapegoats a portion of their own population ? That is, does Niss believe that such a threat is real and actual?

Don't give me that bullshit. There is no denying that in Europe there is an issue with Muslim extremists, but that has absolutely nothing to do with the contents of the video.

This video was a display of pure xenophobia highly reminiscent of 1930s Germany. None of the people in this video know the people they are yelling at. They don't know anything about their lives. All they see is brown people and some people wearing headscarves, and that they are terrorists and are trying to bring in Shariah law.

This is racism. Pure and simple. These racist, uneducated hill people are 'terrorizing' families & children on their way to a charity event. It's the exact same thing we saw with the 'Ground Zero Mosque'.

This is absolutely disgusting. I wonder what the WWII survivors who risked their lives to fight fascism have to say about it growing on their own shores.

Turn off the tube and the internet and jump on a plane. Go learn about the world first hand. Learn about common everyday people on the street. Don't read media presented to us in order to sell.

I was walking back to my hotel tonight, in Amman, after dinner. I'm here on business. Called my wife back home as I wandered down deserted back streets, obviously lost, and realizing that I did not look like any of the locals. Not once, did I feel threatened by these scary people you refer to as Muslims. I ate in a Muslim restaurant, enjoying food prepared by a Muslim and so far, I'm still alive.

I don't call it hate. Narrow mindedness and ignorance is a better description. Your're bright guy, Jake. You write well. Your too smart to be holding such wildly torqued ideas of the Muslim world. It reimnds me of my mother who was scarred of drug dealers walking up to me and sticking nedles in my arm when I was a kid. Sure, there's danger in the world.

The rally was not a picket of a mosque full of peaceful Muslims, with no connections to militant groups, or public aspirations to impose Islamic law. It was aimed at a group of activists, who make no secret of their Islamic supremacism.

Looks like some people decided to put down their pickets and pull out their guns. The victims? Two elderly Sikh men who the heroic shooters mistook for Muslims. CAIR is putting up a reward to try to find the killers because of course the authorities arent going to investigate, just call it "some good boys who were just letting off steam". Liberal media outlets ran with the press release as a way to highlight bigotry towards Muslims, with the video showing up on The Guardian, Think Progress, Salon, Mediaite, Huffington Post, and Hillary Clinton’s source for ‘real news’, Al Jazeera. Problem being, the video and press release is so bereft with false statements, distortions, and a cut and paste documentary style, it could have passed as a Michael Moore film.

Are you really this obtuse? I live in a society which has been formed by Judeo Christian values, even though most liberals are too dim to notice. Most of our important common law principals came from those ideals. But I do not need to believe in God, and Christians will not demand that I do. Muslims, on the other hand .. take a brief look around the world. All cultures are not equal; all religions are not the same...P.S. I’ve never seen a Glen Beck progrom...Promise.
