The Director of Maintenance for Arctic Sunwest will be attending the Western Aircraft Maintenance Engineers Association in Calgary, March 17th and 18th if applicants have questions on the position and Arctic Sunwest’s Operations.

Purpose:
To ensure labour on the aircrafts is in accordance to Arctic Sunwest Charters procedures and regulations, which are outlined in the Maintenance Policy Manual (MPM)

Scope:
This position performs planning and organising functions for operational maintenance activities which involves both human and material capital.

Responsibilities:
_ Liaise daily with the Director of Maintenance to ensure that forecast maintenance as called for by the
Computerized Tracking System is perform within the time periods required
_ Liaise with Stores to ensure components, consumables, calibrated tools and other equipment are available
to perform required maintenance
_ Liaise with Crew Chiefs to ensure the timely rectification of scheduled and un-scheduled defects
_ Liaise daily with Operations and Dispatch to ensure that correctly configured aircraft are available for the
planned requirement.
_ Review completed maintenance documentation to ensure it has been completed correctly prior to it being
submitted to the Tech Records clerk
_ Work with Director of Maintenance to review incoming documentation

Responsibilities SMS:
i. 1.3.3.2.3 LEVEL III– Roles and Responsibilities of Management
ii. Maintain the established reporting system to ensure the timely collection of information related to hazards,
incidents and accidents that may adversely affect safety. This is done through the Incident Report,
Maintenance control procedures and quality assurance;
iii. Identify hazards and carry out risk management analyses of those hazards. When a safety hazard has been
identified, an Incident Report shall be completed;
iv. Investigate, analyze and identify the cause or probable cause of all hazards, incidents and accidents
identified under the safety management system;
v. Monitor and evaluate the results of corrective actions with respect to hazards, incidents and accidents. This
is accomplished by reviewing the corrective action plan at set intervals following implementation.
vi. Monitor the concerns of the civil aviation industry in respect of safety and their perceived effect on the air
operator;
vii. Ensure that training is adequate and effective as defined by the regulations.
viii. Report all safety hazards, incidents and accidents identified under the safety management system or as a
result of an audit, or employee concern to the Safety Manager.

Qualifications:
_ Minimum six years experience in fixed wings and/or rotary wing aircraft maintenance.
_ Adequate knowledge and understanding of parts and aircrafts.
_ Attention to detail.
_ Record-keeping skills.
_ Ability to prioritize and multi-task.
_ Organizational skills.

What the ad fails to mention is the production manager will be working along side the maintenance planner, so there is lots of support for the PM. If you are currently an effective crew chief this position would be an easy transition for you.
