Can anyone answer a few questions about Air Transat for me??

Post by Paigecrystal »

I just had an interview with Air Transat last week and they put me right through to a fitting and I have a medical on thursday. Does anyone know what the medical standards are? Also is it a paid training course and what kind of deals will my immediate family get on flight as I have a 5 year old son and a husband???

You get full salary from training day 1... training pay doesn't exist anymore.

Regarding travel benefits, I think you get 4 confirmed passes and unlimited standby on AT per year, for you and/or immediate family, 6 months after your first revenue flight. You are also eligible to benefit from all the interline agreements contained in the annex from our CBA.

I think youre going for a flight attendant position? The pilot medical was 10 minutes- take a blood sample (the needle doesnt hurt) and a urine sample. Your training will be in Montreal and they will put you up in a hotel. If youre a pilot, you're paid full salary with per diems. Not sure what flight attendants get.

If youre a pilot, you get jumpseat with other airlines, such as Air Canada and Westjet. These benefits start right away. Im pretty sure flight attendants don't get these benefits. You will be able to travel on Air Transat only.

Im not sure what the flight attendant travel benefits are. Someone can correct me, but Im fairly certain travel benefits on Air Transat begin after 6 months, so you wont be able to use AT to fly back and forth until after 6 months. And flight attendants dont get to use jumpseat on other airlines like air canada or westjet, so it seems like youll have to wait for 6 months.

I dont think there is any vision requirements, at least not for pilots.

i heard AT pilots must speak french. Is this true or is it just a plus on your application like air canada. Just curious as well what experience those getting interviews have.
