How many people here love to drink coffee? If so, how do you like it (and please, do not say "crisp" ).
Do you every drink before a flight? If so, how much?
I drink a massive cup of coffee everyday myself. Take it with 2-3 tablespoons of sugar, cream, milk and chocolate milk. Prior to a flight, I can only drink a small cup because I do not yet fly an a/c with a toillett onboard. I have already had a few occasions where I had to make unexpected stops because holding just became too painful
Also, anyone have any funny stories where they drank a lot of coffee prior to a long flight in a commercial air service onboard an a/c with no toilletts? How do you handle problems like this?
Chris.

I am one of those rare pilots/people for that matter who don't drink coffee, never touched the stuff. I am addicted to tea though...costs the same for a large as it does for a small....(perfect for a pilots budget!)
Lol...that's funny just another pilot. But seriously, I limit myself to one coffee per day. Too much cafeine, believe it or not, promotes cancer, according to what I've heard from a doctor friend of mine. And now that I'm in my forties, I'm even more health conscious. One mezzo late from Starbucks, is all I need for the day. After that, it's juice or water.

I used to drink it by the gallon it seemed, not anymore though. Can't handle the caffeine. But I still love the taste of it. So I have to settle for having a strong decaf once a day..............always black.
Double Double for me, tried the whole black thing and went back. to the twins.
If you are on the long hauls with alot of coffee in ya, I suggest a zip lock bag, they seal real nice so you can dispose of outta the window over a sparsley settled area.
I've been up to 10 to 12 cups a night once upon a time. I have had cut back to 5-6 cups a night. Found it tough to get much work done spending 30% of my time in the washroom.

I forgot to mention that I'mn a big fan of iced coffees during the summer. Vietnamese style with condensed milk (very intense) is great. Starbucks (gasp) also does some pretty good iced coffees - especially if you have them add a shot or three of espresso.
Hmmm...looking back at my posts on this thread, I seem to have a common theme. Espresso is good!
As an aside folks, the darker roasts like espresso have less caffeine than the lighter ones (as well as a more intense flavour)

No Coffee, used to drink tea once or twice a year.
Now, in the winter, I order a hot water with a piece of lemon and add a bit of sugar and ice water with lemon in the summer. Not very good, but I can't bring myself to spend $1.40 for a 1 cent tea bag.
Dark, a hint of cream to give a grey colour, a bit of sugar...
What's up with Tim Horton?? I walked in there (first time in Yearsssss) got a coffee. The guy said, what do take in it? I replied, euh...cream and sugar. So he mixed it for me?? Do they do that all over the country?
I wanna mix my own coffee...It wasn't grey enough!

on my second cup right now. Dark roast & a bit of cream. Started drinkin' it in college night classes.
A few years back, got an early am phone call to get my ass in gear cuz were goin' to p/u a new airplane. 1/2 hr later, we're airborne & I'm just finishing my 3rd cup 'o joe. Flight plan was for 1hr first leg... due to circumstances, flt plan changed & now it's not for 3hrs to first stop!!! Oh Oh... cessna single... 2hrs in & I'm really hurtin' only receptacle was a full 1litre Coke. We passed it araound & out of desperation, I chugged the last half & was fillin' er back up in a hurry... oh oh... bladder holds a lot more than a litre... the 2 other guys in the plane were in tears laughing & I was struggling to prevent a small disaster....
anyway, I survived, but I always wondered what the guy in the urinal next to me at the first stop was thinkin' when I was finishing what I had started in the air, as well as dumpin' out a ???...
That's right, Yoyo. Timmy's mixes it all up for you (probably because a good part of their business is drive-through). They do it at every Timmy's that I've been to (which is a good cross-section of the country).

Hey get this one...not only do they mix it for you...if you have the pleasure of going to Sept-Iles, they even give it to you with a hole punched in the top and ask if you want a straw...Yeah talk about completely retarded...you walk into any Timmy's in this particular town and everyone is sipped their java through a straw!! I really hope the trend doesn't spread!!!!!
