ATPL Exams help
I noticed there is quite a bit of help and commentary for the IATRA but not the SARON or SAMRA exams. Though its true there is some cross over, i thought it would be good to get one started. I am writing them soon and plan to put what guidance and help i can on here when i'm done, hopefully others will do the same

I studied the aerocourse question sbook and the CEVOS group study manual, and did very well. I also cross referenced the questions i didnt know very well to the CARS, AIM, or even wikipedia..lol
In addition that material for the SARON i recommend knowing
-time of useful consciousness
-Frequency of Audiograms
-IFR operations into uncontrolled airports
-the difference between SGR and SAR
-Critical point and Point of no return
-review performance charts
-licincing and medical requirements for atpl at all age groups
I also recommend getting a electronic flight computer. Most of the groundspeend questions involved high winds and airpseeds over 400kts. Also the CX2 will automatically compute compressibility error at mach speeds. Well worth the buy... better if you can borrow one.. Thanks to my friend for lending me hers.

The SAMRA was clearly the more difficult of the two. Pretty much all weather and radio navigation
Study up on the following
-Nocturnal low level jets
-Ways to calculate the altimeter setting
-Thunderstorms and its three stages
-Single Side Band (SSB) radios **had 4 questions about them !!!!***
-GPS
The exam questions were very detailed when it came to weather theory and radio aids, not enough to know the surface information, when disscussing vor and dme they wanted to know whether the two signals were on the same or different frequency legnths, whethere they were sent simultaneous or not, that sort of thing
the weather chart questions were simple. Mostly GFA and TAFF questions, there a couple prognostic chart questions, but nothing overly difficult.
Study up on the following

I wonder if they ever considered asking more questions about the stuff that actually kills people. But I guess knowing the inner workings of a vor signal is pretty useful too.
Be ready to use a performance chart to calculate to the nearest 100 lbs whether or not you fly or roll up in a ball of metal and flesh at the end of the runway as well.
