Another shot accross the bow........
"ACPA leaders have opted to file a grievance against Air Canada’s return on Sunday to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport. Air Canada has the right under the tentative pact to hire Sky Regional Airlines Inc. to operate the Toronto-Montreal route with non-union pilots."
OMG run for cover, we have sent a serious message to management, again, the shot accross the bow however is so short it is ten years late.
Pathetic, again............................ OMG!!!!!

Yup. Bring out the strongly worded letter. Maybe even the finger wag.
Re: Another shot accross the bow........
I can hear the arbitrator now....."So let me get this straight, you want to file a grievance against flying that 2 months ago your membership took a vote on to allow?"

Re: Another shot accross the bow........
It wasn't a vote, it was a poll

The ACPA MEC has historically conducted polls unless actually FORCED to conduct a vote. That way they can ignore the results if it wasn't what they wanted to hear.

Re: Another shot accross the bow........
The poll (not vote) was whether or not to allow the company to begin preparations for a launch of the Sky Regional service. The union agreed to allow the company to do this with a drop-dead clause based on reaching a successful contract agreement by May 1st and this, obviously, has not happened. The company decided to go ahead anyways even though they are quite clearly in violation of the contract. Unlike most of the people who visit these forums arbitrators have no difficulty in understanding these issues and I have no doubt at all that an arbitrator will/would decide against Air Canada. The wildcards are; what might eventually be negotiated into the new T/A and will this give away or adequately compensate for the violation and/or what penalty will/would the arbitrator impose, if it comes to that.TAWS wrote:I can hear the arbitrator now....."So let me get this straight, you want to file a grievance against flying that 2 months ago your membership took a vote on to allow?"

I can see it now, acpa shuts down skyregional, skyregional pilots sue acpa.

Re: Another shot accross the bow........
That's OK. Skyregional was designed to be shut down on short notice. Minor penalty paid to SBA/Payson to cover start up expense and employee severance and transfer the Q400 sub-leases to Jazz who now have the Q400 on the OC and Q400 qualified pilots, FA's, and AME's.Black Cat wrote:I can see it now, acpa shuts down skyregional, skyregional pilots sue acpa.
